BENTONITE-CEOLITE COMPOSITES’ PROPERTIES WITH RESPECT TO TRITIUM EXTRACTION FROM TRITIUM WATER

Abstract

Kinetic parameters of adsorption and isotope-exchange processes between bentonite-ceolite composites and tritium water (HTO) have been experimentally found. Tritium extraction by filtering of HTO through such membranes is shown to have almost linear character while its capacity depends on montmorillonite content in the composite. Tritium desorption from bentonite-ceolite membranes is a two-phase process with more accelerated tritium extraction from the composite at the first stage and very slow prolonged desorption at the second stage.
